ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Educate 2 Envision empowers girls in rural Honduras through education. AWBS engaged Caron Architecture to put together a team of designers, with additional volunteers joining from disciplines such as landscape design and engineering. The master plan brings cultural, topographical, climatological, and sustainable  attributes of the site together in the creation of a vibrant place for the institution’s residents. The AWBS team engagement with the Esquías community helped to create a design which will prioritize security, yet be welcoming. The master plan layout is an Arc or El Arco that symbolizes the notion of the plan being part of  a greater circle. That expansive circle reaches out visually and culturally to embrace the goals set forth by the community and Educate 2 Envision. Schematic design and design development are complete, and local engineers and construction professionals are engaged by the client to bring the original vision to reality.
